Dealing with chronic constipation

I am incredibly excited to have finally got my first ever virtual/online course up and running! It goes by the very inelegant name of “Get Those Bowels Moving” – yes, I know, it is utterly basic and not a very appealing description, but I really felt it needed to clearly indicate what the course is all about so that any potential student can identify with it immediately and understand what benefit they may be able to derive.

Constipation is something with which I am VERY familiar unfortunately, having had problems in this area for most of my adult life. I have studied it from pretty much every angle for years, and particularly since I trained in Naturopathic Nutrition at The College of Naturopathic Medicine at Brighton University for three long and arduous years. I graduated in 2017 and established my nutritional consultancy, and it was then that I started to realise what a disturbingly widespread challenge it is – and the more research I did, the more I understood that in the 21st century, and in the developed world at least, chronic constipation is a virtually normal and accepted state of ill health for an awful lot of people – and it is also one which should not be tolerated as it leads to the accumulation of toxins in the bowel which slowly poison the body, creating not only serious digestive disorders but also disease in other systems, as well as accelerated ageing, further down the line. Digestion is often described as the seat of good health so it is crucial to deal with any problems in this area promptly and effectively.

Let me give you an example. The statistics for the sale of laxatives in the developed world vary but the ones which crop up most often are in the region of 20% of the population, or 1 in 7 adults and, even worse, 1 in 4 children, needing to take laxatives in order to get some sort of bowel movement....... 20% may not sound like a lot, but when you understand that one of the parameters regularly used is “less than three bowel movements a week”, the picture is VERY DIFFERENT! How could anybody believe that going to the lavatory three times A WEEK is an effective way to process three meals plus snacks A DAY??? It is inconceivable as well as deeply disturbing!

My studies and research proved encouraging because they showed me holistic and natural ways in which chronic constipation can be helped and pushed me to create my first nutritional online course, Get Those Bowels Moving!. with the intention of introducing others to the many possible steps available which may enable them to take back control and start managing their bowels more effectively. It has undoubtedly worked for me!

The course can be found here so do please have a look to see whether it might be of interest. And if you have any questions, do please drop me a line.

And just a reminder to join my free Facebook group, Let’s Age Dynamically. It is a private, safe environment for all of us, men and women, well into MidLife&Beyond where we can talk about any health challenges which are facing us as we grow older and learn to age dynamically and by design, rather than passively and by default. This is the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/403073241466517 and I look forward to seeing you there.
